Monobloc LNB help please

Hi everybody, hopefully a quick question.

I had heard that monobloc LNB's were designed for 80cm dishes. Does this mean that they cannot be fitted to other dish sizes (smaller or bigger), and if not, why not?

I understand if the dish is smaller you may not receive enough signal, but if we assumed that signal strength is not an issue. Also, I am not talking about Sky dishes which I know use a different LNB holder.

Please can somebody advise here. Thank you.

Channel Master 1.8m On Jaeger 1224 ?

Hi,

Does anyone know if there was an "off the shelf" adapter plate to mount a channel master 1.8m dish onto a Jaeger 1224 motor? The adapter plate provided with the Jaeger 1224 was for a channel master 1.2m dish and is not capable of accepting a 1.8m channel master dish.

Moving on to a related point, is a Jaeger 1224 able to cope with a channel master 1.8m dish, it is quite a heavy dish?

Last point, if there is no readily available adapter plate and a Jaeger 1224 can cope with a channel...

Hello to ALL.
I'm trying to receive TV5 Monde Asia trough ASIASAT 7 3760 H as the power and quality are unstable I was advised to change the LNB, it did not improve! Then I changed the receiver, still no improvement.
I do no more know what to do! May I ask for suggestions?

Adjusting dish to Hotbird using Sky mini dish

Hi all,

We live in Bristol, UK and moved houses 3 months ago. The house has a Sky mini dish and quad LNB with 3 cables already installed, but looks rather old, the dish has some light surface rust, but seems physically intact - there's no dents. The LNB plastic has deteriorated. There's no receiver and all 3 cables terminate in a cupboard under the stairs which is a little mystifying.

My wife's Polish and misses all the FTA Polish channels so we brought a second hand...

Jaeger SMR1224 Usals ready

Today did some work to modify my SMR 1224 for the use with Usals .
First removed the reedswitch en replaced the magnet wheel for one slot wheel .
Put the optical sensor board at the right place , there is plenty of room in there .
Set the limit switches to 80º E and 75 W making a 155º turn
Counted the pulses (430) with a separate counter , 2.77 pulses / degree
For Usals it must be approx. 39 pulses / degree so i made a 14 slot wheel (max. 34 mm dia )
Now counting 6050 pulses at 155º
Tested...

Motorised System Installation Help

My usual Dish installer has gone to scotland to work until March, so i decided to try the install myself..

First of all my Co-Ords
51N *.*W

After taking my old motorised system down (I say taking down it was more like falling down) I purchased new motor, dish and lnb.
My motor set to 51 latitude, dish elevation 21 degrees, using USALS on my Amiko Alien pointing towards 28.2 E my signal Level 90%, signal quality 0%.

Here is the problem, motor turns to where USALS tells it i still get 90%...

Hi

I have recently become responsible for quite a nice wee set up on my boat in the Caspian sea (40N 051E with a 50"dish) and during our initial 'getting to know each other' period I have become acutely aware of how sad it is that it is only delivering a handful of azeri and Romanian channels for our entertainment. This equipment is not usually the type I go for and as much as I enjoy a challenge, I fear that by the time I get my head around quite a broad field of tech, our 3 year contract may...

Well ...having got my TM5402 from CJ I set about scanning my arc in Ku starting at Amazonas ..and heading East ..
Took a couple of days of blindscanning omitting radio ..and arrived at 39E ..where the dreaded memory full error appeared about halfway through the channel store after scan.
I like the box very much and have only good things to say about it ...sensitivity wise.
If the box allowed 20,000 instead of 10,000 ...
This box would have been perfik ...
Amazing just how many channels are...

Having given up many times in the past getting anything in C band around 50East ..
And having tried all for a few hours with the C1PLL on Carl ..
I went back to Christina ..
Currently pointed almost directly at the troublesome tree ..which has shed about 80% of it's leaves ..
I locked a data transponder at a very low 1db -ish
A first for me at this location ...whatever it is ...?
Looking at 49E Yamal possibly ...but can't confirm it as it aint listed at 49E (flysat)
So before I create this...

So what am I pointed at ?

My Astra 28 H polarized channels gone

I watch a lot of BBC News HD. All of a sudden the signal went dead.
After playing around with other Astra 28 channels from the different satellites, I've concluded it's only on the H polarized signals on 28E.

I have 4 LNBs going through a switch which can also pretend to be a motor (I have it configured in Motor mode). I quickly checked Astra 19E which is obviously another LNB, and the channels on H polarization were fine.

Before I start swapping things out, can some people confirm the the H...

Channel master 1.8 final installation and plan

Hi, things will be moving quite quick in the next 1/2 weeks, here is my new and final plan for the install.

This is where the dish will live. I am hoping to pick up a 11ft piece of Jarrah tomorrow, the Jarrah will be a stabiliser and take any movement out of the pole, it will also be acting as part of a wooded gazebo that I will be building at a later date ,

I will be burring the Jarrah to a depth of about 3ft, bolted to the bottom of the wood will be a 4ft ish piece of steel around 4/5 inch...

Hl to the list,
I am new on the forum and hopen an help.
i am currently in possession of a 60cm dish with two separate LNBs which theyare
used, one for the satellite channels with the decoder (Hotbird 13E) and one for receiving the Weather,
Eumetsat (Eurobird 9E).
So everything is OK, but unfortunately I have to go by December 31 from the current reception Eurobird 9E
to Eutelsat 10A which is located at 10E.
I've replaced the current parabolic dish of a 60cm with one of 80cm and replaced the...

Hi,
I have a motorised satellite system which generally works fine for me. I've had it for several years, but up until several months ago I started receiving no signal messages on every single channel on Turksat 42 E. I've never in the past had any problems with Turksat other than a weak signal on some channels. I could still receive many of its channels with a good signal. I did a full reset of my Phoenix Apollo satellite receiver and then added the latest transponders and tried scanning...

Losing 13E HD channels during rain

Hi all,

I just repurposed a rather old Sky mini dish, quad LNB and cabling to receive Polish channels from 13E using a brand new Polsat decoder and subscription. Today during heavy rain, we lost signal of all the HD channels or suffering heavy pixelation. All SD channels works perfect. The signal came back after the rain stopped. I can think of three possible reasons for this - the LNB has lost its waterproofing, the rain is affecting the signal or the dish is out of alignment. I'm...

Motor Issues

I've been having issues with my 1.2m ku band setup as signal quality hasn't been very consistent, wind storms haven't been helping either. I realised that the motor arm on my stab 1.2 is loose, second one in a year. Considering it's Winter I won't be able to do anything until Spring. I'm looking into a 12" or 18" actuator with some type of mount for my 1.2m dish. Any ideas or reccomendations?
